The UTokyo NY Conference

“The UTokyo NY Conference 2017” was held on November 3, 2017 hosted by UTokyo New York Office. The purpose of the conference was to report on progress in studies with international collaborators and to find new collaborations with future partners. About 80 participants include researchers and related parties of companies from Japan and the United States.

Tokyo - New York Stem Cell Summit

“Tokyo-New York Stem Cell Summit” was jointly held by Institute of Industrial Science (IIS), the Institute of Medical Science (IMSUT), and New York Stem Cell Foundation (NYSCF) on September 8, 2017 at NYSCF Research Institute which is 15-minutes walking distance from our UTokyo New York Office. The summit provided a great opportunity for the participants from academia and industry to learn updates in the field of stem cell biology, and to socially interact and discuss with colleagues.

Institute of Industrial Science

Institute of Industrial Science (IIS), the University of Tokyo, is a research institute covering almost all the areas of engineering disciplines. Each of more than 110 faculty members – professors, associate professors and lecturers – has his/her own laboratory and more than 1,000 researchers come to IIS from inside and outside of Japan. They are carrying out various research – from fundamental research to applications – which opens future life. The research field of IIS is very multidisciplinary and covers almost all the areas of engineering disciplines from micro and nano scales such as quantum levels to large scales such as the global level and space.

The Institute of Medical Science

Founded in 1892 as “The Institute of Infectious Disease”, the Institute of Medical Science with its own affiliated research hospital is Japan's foremost research institute for medical life science. Focusing on infectious disease and cancer, our mission is to translate basic research findings directly to medical therapies.
